The next version of android, Android O, was released to developers yesterday with its main focus on prolonging battery life.
Battery life will be prolonged through users limiting the apps the run on the background as Dave Burke, Google’s vice president of engineering explained in a blog post. Android O will run on both tablets and on smartphones. As of now users can download and test this on Google pixel devices and various emulators.
As time goes on google will be unveiling most features to be added to its new Android O. The Android O Developer Preview is available now. Expect to hear more about Google’s next operating system, perhaps even its official name, during Google I/O 2017 in mid-May.
Our ears are on the ground, and we will bring you more details about its features soon.
What will Android O be named?
