Apple has proposed 13 new emojis comprising of hearing aid, mechanical leg, and a person in a manual wheelchair to represent a disabled person.
The submission was made by the company to Unicode Consortium (An organisation which reviews requests for new emoji characters). Once approved, they will be included in the set of Emoji 12.0 update in 2019 as Emojipedia explains.
Apple stated – ” The addition of emojis to better represent individuals with disabilities. Currently, emoji provide a wide range of options, but may not represent the experiences of those with disabilities. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all possible depictions of disabilities, but to provide an initial starting point for greater representation for diversity within the emoji universe.”
People are excited in the newly proposed emojis submitted by Apple and Praising them for that.
