Many believe that soon is the most overused word in computing technology, and rightly so. Microsoft has promised new Windows 10 ISOs for Windows Insiders, saying that they would be released soon.
These things take time, sure, ironing out all the bugs, hiccups and performance issues is no small matter. Even if Windows 10 as a platform is a lot more stable.
But almost two months without a release is a rather long wait.
Just to refresh your memory, the latest ISO releases for Insiders are from late July, when Redmond rolled out the RTM version of the operating system. Since then, the Windows Update option is the only official way to download new builds.
Meaning these new versions are only provided to users signed up for the fast ring of the program.
Those that are on the slow channel are still on build 10240.
Unless there is a special exception, Microsoft only provides new ISOs when builds reach the slow ring. Redmond is currently busy ensuring that a version reaches this channel by fixing bugs and issues that have been reported.
As confirmed by Gabriel Aul, ISOs with slow ring builds are coming:
@iHeartInfoTech Yes, we’ll do ISOs with Slow ring builds again. Can clean install as long as the system had a Win10 activation.

Users that plan on doing clean installs with a new ISO will need to first activate their computers and devices on build 10240, and then proceed with the installation. Otherwise, they will not be able to activate their new version.
This is important, as every new Windows 10 preview build expires in 30 days after it is installed.
For now, let’s wait and see when a new build is released as an ISO for Windows Insiders.
And which version it is.
