There is a suitable way to fix the issue of over sharing your Facebook information.
The social giant Facebook announced a year ago over the amendment of their Facebook API which developers use so that users can easily create accounts on their apps using their Facebook account.
These posed problems with most users since one had to grant the third party app access to all sorts of personal data from Facebook in other to create an account. The apps usually takes info of Birthdays, friend list or profile or you would have to create an account.
Facebook then announced at its F8 developer conference last year that was changing this setting, apps will give users a chance to opt out of specific categories. A user can choose to share his/her profile but not contacts or birthday.
Developers were given a deadline for a year, and that was on Thursday. Which implies that any app that grants the opportunity to login with Facebook, it should have sharing options seen. Upon the process of login with Facebook, you will be redirected to the approval page where you will see a link inscribed “edit the info you provide,”. This option allows you to make a choice of sections on profile you share.
According to Simon Cross, Facebook product manager. There’s a small chance that Facebook’s changes might cause one of your apps to crash. If a developer hasn’t prepared for Facebook’s update and its app is still coded to rely on parts of your Facebook information that you now withhold, it could bug out. But this is unlikely.
